1. 100% Local Processing (No Uploads)

WasmConvert is built on a "local-first" architecture. We do not upload, store, or process any of your files on our servers. All image, video, and audio conversions are executed entirely within your web browser's memory using WebAssembly (WASM) and HTML5 technologies. Your files are read directly from your device and saved back to your device. Once you close the tab, all processed data is permanently destroyed.

Because we never receive your files, we cannot access, view, recover, or share them with anyone — including advertisers or government authorities. This is a fundamental design principle of the service, not a policy choice.

2. Information We Collect

We do not require an account and we do not collect your name, email address, or any file content. The only information we may collect is standard, aggregated website analytics — such as pages visited, browser type, device category, approximate region, and referral source — used to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. We do not use this data to identify individual users.

3. Cookies and How We Use Them

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential/functional storage: We use your browser's local storage to remember your cookie consent choice and UI preferences (e.g., language). This does not track you across websites.
  • Analytics cookies: If we enable website analytics, they may set cookies to count visits and measure page performance.
  • Advertising cookies: Third-party advertising partners, including Google AdSense, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads and measure ad performance. These cookies may be used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads on this and other websites.

Your files are never transmitted to or stored by us, so there is nothing to retain or delete. Cookie and analytics data is retained according to the retention schedules of the respective providers and our own needs, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

8. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Others)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data; to data portability; to object to processing; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with rights to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Because files are processed entirely on your device, the main security risk to your data is your own device. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date. The website itself is served over HTTPS to protect the pages and any analytics data in transit.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us. We have no control over the content and practices of these sites and cannot accept responsibility for their respective privacy policies.
